This is the Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters facebook challenge.  Join the group to follow the fun!  #2017 Challenge #1 had just a couple of parameters…no rulers, use existing or “challenging” fabric from your stash to de-construct a New York Beauty, and finish in 30 days.   So here it is, 36″ wide x 46″ long using traditional elements from a NYB block, which most of us normally paper-piece.  I love paper-piecing.  Honestly.  You simply cannot make a mistake, so this was a challenge, and no, I didn’t use a ruler, but have discovered that I’ve gone so long without using one that my lines actually look pretty straight without a ruler.  Who knew?

Now on to tackle the purple/yellow/gold blocks from a couple of weeks ago!

What’s on YOUR design wall?

Cheers,

Beth
