Piecing and more piecing…

I have been piecing and piecing like a woman on a mission!  My goal for this work has been to finish it by April 1, 2020. It’s the 2nd work in a series of what will be 4 quilts, the 4 seasons of our lives.  For the first 2 weeks of 2020 I did nothing except make more blocks, which are 1.25″ x 1.25″ or 3/4″ square when sewn. It’s tedious. It’s not for the faint of heart, but here is a comparison from last January 31st to today:

The best thing I can tell you when you are working on what seems like a daunting task, no matter if it’s work or play…Get after it. My Grandmother Broyles used to say this when I would come home with reading homework, or math that I didn’t necessarily understand the need for in life, or even practicing the flute or piano.

My belief is now that nothing great comes without great effort!
